I noticed recently that when I swallow, even just the slightest swallowing motion while not actually swallowing anything, I hear a "click" near my ears or in my ears. It almost sounds like there is liquid in my ears. I have tried the blowing air while holding nose trick but didn't help. I went to ENT, who gladly took my copay, but didn't find any liquid in my ears. He found two small hairs that I must've stuck in there with Q-tips.
When I swallow I can hear the click/crunch noise in my right ear followed soon after by my left ear. It is really annoying. Just add it to my list of problems.
I don't know if it is TMJ related. I went to TMJ dentist and he fitted me for a mouth piece. I decided against it for the time being. Was expensive and I wasn't convinced that he felt I had much in the way of TMJ. Most peole have pain, which I do not.
