I have a quick question: do you guys ever have pain when you move your eyes up or down or move them? I only have it in my right eye and it has been there for 2 days. I heard that this can be optic neuritis? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance.

Posts: 1522 Aug 10 09 7:49 PM Administrator	If it has come on suddenly you absolutely need to have it checked out. Is it also more blurry in that eye? Do you notice that the colors you see are brighter in one eye than the other? Both of those could mean optic neuritis. I've had it a couple of times in the same eye. The last time, it hurt like hell. Really, really bad. The last time also caused permanent nerve damage. So definitely get it checked out.

Newbie Posts: 12 Aug 11 09 6:17 PM	Hi, I went to bed one night and woke the next and the eye hurt. I do have a cold right now, so it may be associated with that. The vision is absolutely the same in both eyes, that I am certain of. It does not seem as though my vision is blurry or one eye has better color detection than the other. I tried closing one eye and examining and repeating with the other eye and it is the same. Do I still need to go and visit the Doctor?

Regular Visitor Posts: 43 Aug 13 09 4:16 AM	I woke up one morning when my symptoms first started 3 yrs ago with pain in one eye and whenever i moved it, it hurt. I have had 3 MRIs over the yrs and definitely have never had optic neuritis. Don't assume the worst but if its really hurting or gets worse yes get it checked out

Registered User Posts: 1 Mar 21 12 9:00 PM	So starting today I've had this pain in my right eye, only when looking up or far to the right, what is going on? I have no other symptoms just the pain when moving my eye those two ways, any body else experience anything like this? And what was the outcome? I go see my doctor tomorrow and hopefully she'll say nothing's wrong! It's just weird!

Now I don't have it anymore. But in your case i suggest to see a doctor so you can know what it is
