Hey guys.
This condition seems to be quite rare and very bizarre. When I was younger (about 6 or 7) I suffered with what I've only recently discovered as Micropsia aka Alice in Wonderland Syndrome http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_in_Wonderland_syndrome Recently I've been getting this again and it started with the onset of my Persistent migraine aura, visual snow and palinopsia. It happens around 4-5 times a week normally when I'm in bed at night or first thing upon waking. I've also had it once when driving which was pretty dangerous as it's near impossible to drive whilst having one of these "episodes". The best way I can describe it is looking through binoculars backwards, everything goes very small and looks far away, it's definitely brain related because with my eyes shut everything feels far away too, very bizarre feeling. Each episode can last up to 20 minutes but normally goes away after around 5, the best way to get rid of it I find is walking around. It doesn't bother me too much as I get it fairly often but for someone who has never experienced it, it can be very frightening if they do. I went to the doctors regarding this issue and he basically looked at me like I was some nutcase and probably making it up. I got referred to a neurologist after really pushing my doctor to investigate it and I had an MRI scan which revealed nothing. The neurologist identified it as Migraine and called it Todd's Syndrome which is another name for Alice and Wonderland Syndrome, I was shocked that he actually knew what it was. Anyway getting to the point, I'm wondering if there is any connection to Visual snow and AIWS as they both are migraine related it would be good to see how many other people on these forums suffer with AIWS.
Thanks.
