Regular Visitor Posts: 35 06/25/09 4:18 AM	Hi guys, I have just booked my honeymoon with my future Mr and we have planned to go Bungee Jumping whilst we are out there. It say's they will not let anyone jump who has a neurological condition. Do you think that visual snow would be classed in this category and do you think i should jump? Will it worsen my VS or worse?

Regular Visitor Posts: 397 06/25/09 9:10 AM	I'm no doctor and wouldn't be able to give you advise, but in your shoes I would do the jump. There are a lot of neurological conditions that Bungee Jumping wouldn't be bad for, like Migraine, for example. The problem is the blood flow to the brain gets a bit goofy from the G-force and if you pop a blood vessel you're toast. I wouldn't jump if I were on blood thinners or if I had an unburst aneurism or a history of stroke etc... What does google say on Bungee Jumping and neurology?

What does google say on Bungee Jumping and neurology? i never knew popping a blood vessel was a problem... usually it'll just heal up fine, unless its a big blood vessel. ~The Skeletal Philosopher~ I question everything. i will question this snow, i will ask it what it wants, i will ask it why it's here, and ill ask it when it plans to leave. so far it has declined to answer. when it does.... i may make a mess on myself.

I don't think you want to pop one in your head - cerebral aneurysm/ Hemorrhagic stroke aren't so good for you - especially hanging upside down from a bungee cord... Brain Hemorrhaging isn't really something i like the sound of but i think that that is a risk anyone who jumps will take. Lets hope they say the same thing and let me do it! Fingers crossed.

Regular Visitor Posts: 51 07/23/09 2:52 PM	Firstly congratulations on the wedding and good luck with the honeymoon =) The following is just cautions since none of us are experts on your health so feel free to by pass. /disclaimer [worry wart speaking] I imagine they're worried about people passing out and such too since hanging upside down for any length of time ain't nice for the body. Insurance stipulations... their business insurance may occlude folks with any neurological problem, so if you don't disclose them if something did happen they could argue that they're not accountable. I'm not a lawyer or in insurance though. I'm also UK based so my thoughts are very colloquial. Insurance would only be a problem if something did happen and it's probably unlikely that something would if you feel healthy enough to consider the jump.
