first of all, i am still getting visual snow, but i thought i would let everyone know something that has helped my vision. my visual snow started when i was
about 5. i got my first computer around this age and i have always used computers and watched television. my visual snow didnt really bother me every day until
about 4 years ago. it seemed to happen when i got a new lcd monitor to replace my 19'' crt monitor. i have been wondering what was different about the
new one that would cause me to get visual snow so bad considering it never used to bother me. i thought maybe because the new monitor was too bright or too
colourful. i use my computer for a few hours every day. one thing that was different about my new monitor was that i was able to place it further away on my
computer desk because lcd's are thinner, so the screen was about roughly half a meter further away than my last monitor from my eyes. soon after getting
this new one my visual snow happened every day and also once i saw lights flickering in my vision. then a few months ago i got another lcd monitor, it's
quite a bit brighter than my last one but also i put it nearer my eyes and a few days later, i noticed when i was playing xbox 360 one night on my hdtv, some
of the colours on screen seemed different, as if i was seeing totally different shades of colour, the graphics seemed sharper too. so i placed the monitor
further away again. i tried putting it closer to me again a couple of days ago, about arms length away from my eyes. it has caused a definite improvement to my
eyesight, it's weird but it's as if i am seeing shades of colour that i have never experienced before, not just on tv but all around me, everything
seems more colourful and vibrant, different shades of colour, and sharper too. i'm hopeful that my visual snow will eventually go too. i had been
previously been looking at my monitor about arms length away from me for years without any problem, conventional wisdom says you shouldn't sit too close to
your television but in my case, i think sitting closer to my monitor and television has helped.
