Difficult question, I am not sure about that. Please have a look at the table (see http://www.migraine-aura.org/content/e27891/e27265/e42285/e42442/e54887/index_en.html ) where I made a comparison between the blue field entoptic phenomenon and visual snow, you can check the different criteria mentioned there and tell whether your experiences of seeing the phenomenon depicted in pic 1 fits to the characteristics of the former or of the latter.

I understand. Dou you think you can catch that in an illustration? One could use the first series (1-3) depicting the contracting ring scotomas as it is usually, then - against the same background and basis rate vs - the classic aura - and then another seot of (1-3) which show the "ring scotoma" becomes shimmering and different shapes ? Maybe it's too difficult to show it in a picture, just to ask?
