Regular Visitor Posts: 428 01/22/08 5:53 PM	Remove this ad I have finally been able to sit down at the computer and create some more images of what I see. On January 7, I was working on my computer just before I had to leave for a meeting. This is what it looked like for about 20 minutes. After I regained my full field of vision, everything and everyone had a glow around them for about two hours. (I am the one on the left ) Also, I recreated the image of what I see when I am looking at something white or solid...I tried to get the blossoming flower effect... Regular Visitor Posts: 652 01/22/08 6:36 PM	that blossoming flower is just like what i get when i'm in bright sunshine. so glad someone else has that. This is one of my most annoying symptoms. I also get the glow around people on occasions but only in bright rooms with light coloured walls.

Registered User Posts: 5010 01/22/08 6:48 PM	ChelleWMCN, the visual disturbance you depicted in the 2nd image is called corona phenomenon, a glowing extra-contour around persons and objects You have also depicted yourself in the image and drawn a corona around your body, but you can't see your own head (unless you look into a mirror) Can you tell whether you have seen a corona also around the visible parts of your own body e.g. the hands/arms Can you also make illustrations of the negative scotomas (1) their appearance during the attacks before they became persistent, (b) how they look like in the persistent form?

Even with the xanax it's starting to become more noticeable. I was joking about the character on the left being me...While I was experiencing the glowing phenomenon, I was too worried about the meeting I was conducting to even think about whether I was glowing, too. I should have looked, but I didn't. I will make the images of the negative scotomas.

Regular Visitor Posts: 413 01/23/08 2:27 PM	Remove this ad Your third image looks similar to my full migraine auras (but my Auras are temporary and completely block out my vision - they are not transparant or transluscent). The first image looks like what my sister gets and has been diagnosed as an odd form of visual migraine. I get the glows around high conrast objects a lot since VS came on. Do you get positive afterimages? Personally I dispise migraines - both having them and "dealing" with them. So many people mis-use the term for head-aches it really burns my butt... "how's your head ache?" people ask me.. if it was just my head hurting I could deal with it! lol It seems to me that "migraine" has maybe become a bit of a catch-call for these odd things. The problem is that the average Joe doesn't know a migraine from a pressure head-ache and migraine sufferers have to overcome certain prejudices as a result...

This is really reassuring. it does seem like they are being sucked out of my vision only to be replaced with more and more. the more i am in the sun the more intense it gets.

Sometimes it'll take out all my peripheral vision, and sometimes everything but a circle in the middle (like tunnel vision). And sometimes it'll be all my vision and I won't be able to see anything (that has happened many times). When that happens though, it isn't black, its just the absence of anything. Weird feeling. I get the corona glow all the time around everything, but mine is more white-gray and has a pretty small diameter. It gets thicker before migraines. I get the flower thing too, but the flower will span out of bright things in my central vision. So like, the morning glow around two trees would get two flower-like things. Although, to be honest, I never thought of them as flowers before. Good thing Chelle has pictures! Need to cheer yourself up? Watch the Kitty Cat Dance!

I remember seeing it before all this started, but it would usually be when I was hot and coming in from the sun to the much dimmer interior of home. would be very pronounced, then fade away quickly. now I get it more often and for no apparent reason. More intense at times, weak at others. Not sure I ever noticed it when it's bright

Regular Visitor Posts: 428 01/28/08 11:51 PM	My doctor asked me to make images of the flickering I see...I have always explained it that I see as if I was in a 70s disco...even though I was never in one! I think I have the images just about right...what I see most of the time. Hotel room with flickering. Mountain Scene with flickering.

Posts: 1496 01/29/08 10:51 AM Administrator	I get that but it is really transient. If it is as strong as yours is, it never lasts longer than a dozen minutes of so, and less than an hour for sure. I'll get a more subtle flicker for a few hours to a few days. I am not fond of the flickering that's for sure. Need to cheer yourself up? Watch the Kitty Cat Dance!

Increased Scheerer's phenomenon (aka blue field entropic phenomenon) seen vividly on virtually all white and blue backgrounds, indoors or out. 5. auras around lights 6. cell-like floaters 7. pulse in eyes (more visible against white backgrounds) 8. tinnitus 9. pulse in back of my head when exercising or after drinking hot liquids 10. red ear syndrome 11. bubbling in ears (especially when I first wake up) 12. crunchy sounds in ears when I make a swallowing motion Gradual onset, steadily progressive.
