Regular Visitor Posts: 1008 12/21/07 12:10 PM	Remove this ad My tinnitus is really bugging me at the moment. It is there all day 24/7 whistling at a high pitch. At night I get a rumbling noise like distant thunder, I seem to be able to quieten it to a degree. But it comes back. I seem to remember it was the same this time last year. Anyone have any idea of any kind of treatment for it? thanks janey

Regular Visitor Posts: 297 12/21/07 1:25 PM	Hi Janey, I also get the rumbling noise like thunder which I think I was describing it as the girgling...I like the "thunder" description better...it does sound more like that...is this besides the whistling sound considered tinnitus too

Regular Visitor Posts: 1008 12/21/07 4:25 PM	hi neurogurl.....yeah, I can hear whistling and thunder at the same time. It would drive me mad if I let it. But I try to ignore. Its just like vs in a way....I worry that the symptoms are a sign I am going to turn completely deaf, the same as vs makes a person worry about blindness. Also I worry because tinnitus makes me feel spaced out too. I just feel as if all my senses are failing me. But then again, if it is true that we are seeing more and hearing more than we should, then surely we are a long way off from blindness and deafness......but who knows.......its such a worry.

Regular Visitor Posts: 652 12/22/07 4:31 AM	i get a high pitched ringing usually like beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep but sometimes it goes like beep beep beep beep beep. If its going to be loud in my ear then the volume i hear usually goes down for a couple of seconds then the ringing begins.. joy oh joy. I also gets the banging of the little elf in my ear once in a while.

Occasionally, it'll get really loud for a few seconds in my left ear, then fade back down to the "normal" level. A few weeks ago, it got loud but didn't fade away for about 2 weeks. It happened again about 3 days ago, and it's still blasting away in my left ear now. It's really depressing, because it's so loud that it's almost impossible to ignore it and it's on my mind constantly. I can alter the volume of mine by moving my jaw around. If I move my jaw to the right, the tinnitus in my left ear will get mega-loud. Last Edited By: sigmatic 12/27/07 4:42 AM. Edited 1 time.
