Well you all know me here, I have been here for 16 months and of course I am not a troll!!! I think because we are so upbeat here most of the time and positive thinking people, I just tried to pass on the positivity to others, but they didnt like it!

A lot of places people get so used to just talking to "their" inner circle of friends that when someone new comes along and says something they even mildly disagree with, you are labeled a troll. Other communities like this one are generally pretty trusting and welcoming, but I think the point of this forum is different than most of the "chit chat" boards out there. We're all working together because we all share the same problem, and thus understand each other, even if the person posting is brand new. We can sympathize and genuinely want to help. If you're stepping in on a political or other recreational conversation elsewhere, you won't necessarily be greeted as warmly. Though, there are several boards here on Yuku that have very nice people (Yukupolis is one). Here, we all seem to work together in a positive way, looking for answers etc...we are all pretty positive with the same goal in mind, a cure for VS. Anyway, the same quote keeps popping up again and again on the fibromyalgia site, which is ....."there is no cure for fibromyalgia" ...I commented that this kind of comment is pointless and depressing and useless. As no-one knows what fibromyalgia is....then no one can state there is no cure. I have every sympathy for the people who are suffering there but I just believe, a positive attitude is the best way forward, rather than stating there is no cure.....period. I was certainly not meaning to patronise anyone but I opened a can of worms..... I have noticed that there is more of a "woe is me" attitude on many of the CFS/fibromyalgia boards. I found it a case where some of the online boards were completely useless because everyone was wallowing in their unnecessarily pitiful lives. These are also some of the same people that FREAK OUT if anyone mentions that stress can make illness worse (knee jerk response from being told its just in their heads). There's a decently hopeful/helpful group at groups.yahoo.com called Fibromyagia-CFS. Need to cheer yourself up? Watch the Kitty Cat Dance!

I get a kind of impression that many of the posters are stereotypical menopausal neurotics.....sorry...dont like to judge...BUT .....you know, I so dont want to become one of them. I would have died 9 years ago in a horrific car accident if I was focused on the floaters and thousands of bloodcells streaming across my vision every day 100% and not ignoring it. "Oh look a god damned floater.... BAM!!!! SMASH!!! DEAD!!!" I can say with my right hand on the Holy Bible, that ignoring my vision effectively does "jack shit" in reducing my visual symptoms, any more than just ignoring cancer, diabetes, or AIDS will make it go away. Is life easier if I ignore my vision? sure. Is my vision better? Hell No. I mean crap, why don't I go around telling all the bald bone cancer ridden kids to just ignore their cancer, think about pretty wittle butterflies all day long, and stay away from radical treatment attempts? Imagine if a doctor's advice was for a bone cancer kid to not do any treatment, but to ignore their cancer and think about butterflies. That doc would be thrown in jail and burned at the stake so fast...... God dang it!!! I would cut off my right nut with a dull razer to get some precise and exact information into what the hell is going on with us. To find out why our vision is different. I want to know everything! I want to know which receptor sites on which neurons are affected, I want to know how it is different with normal visioned people who "cant see anything but black in pitch blackness (I find this unfathomable)". We freaking put a man on the moon and built weapons capable of destroying entire cities.
