The irony is that I actually have no sense of smell or taste due to nasal polyps. But I have got the smell of perfume stuck in my head, I can even taste it and it is giving me heartburn and headache.

Registered User Posts: 5010 12/05/07 7:25 AM	An attack of migraine with aura consists, in the typical case, of an aura symptom ( = neurological synmptom) plus the headache. Here the olfactory hallucination is the aura heralding the headache of the migraine attack. The olfactory hallucination doesn't give you headache, but both the olfactory hallucination and the headache are components of the complete migraine attack. Regular Visitor Posts: 1008 12/05/07 7:50 AM	Yes the headache is getting worse it is in my right temple, down my nose and cheek. I remember when I was a teenager and I used to visit the department store, the smell of very strong perfumes on the fragrances floor used to make me have sickening headaches. That is how I feel now only I have not been to the perfume store. My mind is so mixed up. Ksomething, it is also near my period. Do you think this is definately migraine nothing worse? Registered User Posts: 5010 12/05/07 8:03 AM	It would all fit well to the migraine with aura diagnosis, even the temporal relation to pre-menstrual period. I don't recall right noiw whether you ever had a CT or MRI?

Do you think I should get one....I have trouble with my doctor, he does not take my symptoms seriously, he thinks I am a hypochondriac, so it would be difficult for me to get a scan. Registered User Posts: 5010 12/05/07 10:35 AM	I only asked because "according to the state of the art" in medicine anyone with a persistent perception disorders should have a CT or MRI once, even if it may only show something pathological in less than 1% You asked me whether I'm sure that is a migraine symptom, if you had a normal MRI or CT I would say "yes", so I say yes with so-to-speak 99% probability

Though, there are quite a few people on here who have mentioned that some sinus infections are sometimes really migraines... I think mine really were sinus infections (combo of symptoms, not just headaches). Wendi
